Usually we take off the better part of December from schooling. And this year, I didn’t think would be any different. However, it has become increasingly clearer to me that Mister Bull needs to keep structure in his daily schedule. But, with the holidays so close together, two family weddings and so much emotion this year I knew we needed something to keep him busy. Even if it was just a page or two a day and some reading. That’s when I decided to make my own Christmas Unit Studies. I had planned on sharing these right after Thanksgiving, but I got seriously ill and found myself in the hospital for 5 days. I spent last week recovering and recouping, so they didn’t get out to you as soon as I’d hoped. I also planned on having another unit study available, “Jesus is the Reason”, but it is not yet done. I will keep plugging away on it, but I’m not sure it will be done in time this year.
However, I am super excited to share my dual Unit Study with you today. I have combined the Christmas Tree and Saint Nicholas Unit Studies into one. But, there are separate pages for each. I know some people continue the tradition of Santa Claus, but we have not. So, this unit study tells the history of the infamous Saint Nicholas from the 3rd century. You are welcome to use all or part of this unit study as you wish. We do not “do Santa” (that’s for another post), but I wanted Mister Bull to understand what Saint Nicholas was/is all about. So I add his history into this unit study.
